How to choose

About this collection

From the right design to the editor, step by step.

  1. Chalice, angels or a photo

Designs feature chalices and hosts, crosses, angels, churches and floral frames, in white, gold, blue or pink. Some include space for a photo of the child. Pick artwork that matches the family’s style and leaves room for the full name and both times, if there is a reception.

  2. Mass and reception details

List the church, the Mass time and, if there is one, the reception address and time on separate lines. Mention a dress code only if the family has one. A short line of faith or gratitude is enough; long verses are hard to read on a phone.

  3. Details to confirm before editing

Confirm the Mass time with the parish before sending: the celebration and the family gathering are often at different times. Check the child’s full name, the parish name and both times if the Mass and the reception happen in different places.

Spell out the month in the date — [Month] [day], [year] — and check the time. Include a.m. or p.m., or use a clearly labeled 24-hour time. For guests in another region, add the city and the time zone when needed rather than relying on an ambiguous numeric date.

  4. Example wording to adapt

The following wording is a suggestion: replace the fields in brackets and remove anything that does not apply to your event.
With joy, we invite you to celebrate [Name]’s First Holy Communion on [date] at [time], at [church]. A reception follows at [venue]. Please RSVP to [contact] by [deadline].
  5. From the selected template to the editor

Open the selected invitation page, inspect its preview and use the personalization button to enter the editor. Replace the sample details with your event information and check which elements that template allows you to change. To include a photo, choose a design with space for one or check the editor options. Review the result on a phone and check the download options and conditions shown for that template before completing it. Sharing an image does not automatically make the text inside it clickable: send necessary maps and links in the accompanying message too.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

What to check before opening the editor.

What should a first communion invitation include?
The child’s name, the church, the date and time of Mass, the reception details if there is one, and a contact for RSVPs.
Can I add a photo of my child?
Yes, in designs with a photo area. Check the crop in the editor so the photo does not cover the details.
When should I send first communion invitations?
Three to four weeks ahead is common, so guests can plan around the Mass schedule.
Can I add a Bible verse to a First Communion invitation?
Yes, if the design has room for a short line. Keep it separate from the ceremony details so the date, time and church stay easy to read.
How do I open a selected template in the editor?
Open the invitation page, inspect the design and use the personalization button. Replace the example event details. Photo, color and design changes depend on the selected template and the options available in the editor.
